Biofuel

A biofuel is a fuel that is produced through contemporary biological processes. Cellulosic biomass, derived from non-food sources, such as AEI Bio Tree in our case, is also being developed as a feedstock for ethanol production.

After the AEI Bio Trees are harvested at the end of the 1st year, the feedstock is delivered to a refinery to produce the Ethanol by mixing it with a combination of acids and a plentiful supply of water. Nothing goes to waste, the water can be reused again and again, creating many very valuable bio-products. During the production process, we use a combination of fermentation, hydrolysis, and mixture of acids combined with the latest IT technology.
The resulting AEI Bio ethanol is used in fuel blends, reducing carbon dioxide emission by up to 91% (E85) and to generate electricity, eliminating emissions altogether (100% clean; zero emissions).

Facts
  • Ethanol produced is purified and reaches the 122 Octane compared to approximately 86 Octanes from Corn and 89-98 Octane for fuel gasoline, and is ready for distribution.
  • AEI Bio trees feedstock used in the production of the cellulosic ethanol contains 68-69% cellulose more than any other species.
  • One acre of AEI Bio trees – 680 trees- yields 4,152 US gallons of ethanol, containing 11 to 12 times (1,100% to 1,200%) more energy than the input required, dropping carbon dioxide emissions by a staggering 91%–100% without detriment to the agricultural market and without affecting sensitive food prices.
